The Space...
The Elbow Room in Islington is a 600 capacity venue ideally suited to hosting private parties. We can cater for small bookings or a full-on party for 600, whether it’s a corporate event, an office party, a birthday party or an informal no-reason knees up. If you are coming with a large group of people and you want to stay on a pool table for longer than an hour you will need to pre-book.
There are two separate pool areas, each with 5 tables, as well as a private room with one pool table and its own plasma screen. You can choose the quieter area at the front or the tables at the back which adjoin the dance floor – perfect if you want your own space but some of your guests are liable to slip off and shake their thang. Some nights are obviously quieter than others.
Competition...
It is entirely possible to play a friendly game of pool with no competitive edge whatsoever. And you’ll have fun. But not nearly as much fun as you’ll have if you’re determined to win at all costs and get down to the thrill of a black ball showdown against your best mate, or your boss, or your boyfriend. There are all sorts of competition formats and we can advise on the most suitable for your needs. If you don’t want to have to worry about the organisation on the night then we can provide you with a pool compere to host the event and act as arbiter in the event of any acrimonious rules disputes. We can also provide trophies and pool related prizes like cues, or even tables.
Food...
If you’re eating as well as drinking it is best to pre-order our party menu, a delicious selection of light bite finger food that is easy to eat on your feet
Pool Pro....
Add a little extra and hire a Pool pro for the night, to show you a few tricks and dish out a tip or two. We have two excellent house pros, but if you want someone a bit special just ask and we’ll see what we can do. We’ve had both Jimmy White and Steve Davis host parties in the past…
