Coventry venue undergoes £3.7 million refurbishment

The Ricoh Arena's extensive refurbishment programme, which aimed to improve its facilities, has been completed.

A new 650-seat auditorium has been created at the Coventry venue as part of the revamp, the Coventry Telegraph reported.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, suggested that the new auditorium is ideal for conventions, symposiums and conferences and can be used for evening entertainment as well.

"This improvement to our business-to-business offer means we can provide a meeting space for eight people or a convention for 7,000 delegates, which underlines the versatility of our offering," he told the newspaper.

He also revealed that conference and events turnover has risen 25 per cent year-on-year thanks to the new refurbishments, adding that the venue is also attracting repeat bookings.

A number of high profile events will take place at the Ricoh Arena, which is home to Coventry City FC, over the coming years, including the FA Women's Football showpiece.
