Berkshire conference venue applies for £2.5m upgrade

The Sheepdrove Eco Conference Centre is looking to add almost 40 bedrooms to the conference venue to make it more appealing to companies.

It is currently seeking planning permission for a £2.5 million upgrade to the conference venue which will see it add 38 rooms to the facility, reported Event Magazine.

The addition will be placed across the road from the current Berkshire conference centre and will uphold its environmental credentials, including reusing heat from hair dryers and steam.

Russell Downing, director of operations at the Sheepdrove Eco Conference Centre, told the magazine the recent lack of accommodation at the conference venue has led to it not being picked.

He added: "The creation of these bedrooms will allow us to meet the needs of all potential clients, whilst removing one more potentially negative impact on the environment."

The London Congress Centre revealed this week that its reception area will be getting a makeover to make it more modern and appealing to visitors.
